Our Purpose
Avra Kehdabra means ‘I will create as I speak’ in Aramaic. It was by this intrinsic principle the market was born and it is our purpose
to facilitate a market that empowers the community to create what they want for their lives, starting with their health. First, we
educate with classes and local partnerships that offer community engagement in gardening, herbal aids, and nutrition. Then we
provide vehicles of change in the community and economic opportunities through collaborations that bolster youth, adult, and
senior initiatives to stimulate the economy in the community. Lastly, we work to drastically reduce food deserts in the community by
creating edible spaces for gardening.
